JERUSALEM-THREE SOULS IN ONE CITY

Jerusalem-Three Souls in One City is a long-awaited breath of fresh air. Walking us through The Old City, Jerusalem, each photograph in this 50 page book has a story to tell, and together, they weave a powerful pictorial narrative that compels you to look at the world’s most controversial city in a new and different light. The author/photographer presents life as it thrives within the ancient walls of the city despite the struggles faced by its inhabitants on a daily basis. From the religious rituals to the busy market life, to the contemplative moods of the night, the book offers the viewer an intimate insight into the lives of the followers of the World’s three predominant faiths. As one flips through the pages, one can feel the powerful imagery gently nudging one to look within and understand the importance of interfaith harmony and mutual respect as the only answer for a peaceful future.

So beautifully put together Farah. From the very touching extremely well written introduction to the very last page. You have without a doubt captured the title of the book. It flows beautifully and feels like each picture you have captured could tell a thousand stories. Without sounding dramatic it is in my words a book with a heart.

As you flip through the mesmerizing pictures Farah’s lens captured so perfectly, you find something tugging at your heart. It’s the common thread of humanity. Despite all the beautiful differences that make us interesting and unique, and at times at odds with each other it is our humanity that will allow us to evolve into the best version of us as a world. Farah thank you for this beautiful reminder. Our world needs it. We need it. This book is art, creativity and passion for peace at it’s best.

Farah’s book is indeed a beautiful collection of photographs, and her forever message of peace and unity is clearly evident from one page to the next. Through the stillness of each image, Farah brings life to stories that are both old and new, as we are drawn to analyze our own stories in search of common truths.

Farah’s photos are such a reflection of her heart and personality! The colors are just beautiful and the the contrast of the old art and centuries old stone against the modernness and humanity of the people is soulful and a reminder that the year may change but our humanity does not. The similarity of all the religious wall art and free standing art provides a wonderful reminder that the images may be different and the hands may be different but the desire to celebrate belief through art is the same across religion. Farah recognizes that peace can only be obtained… Read more »

Laughing, loving, longing in a city of souls. Three, divided in belief, three, on these stone streets, three, on stone streets, that seldom meet. Images of laughter here captured, Children in hopes stride, Seeking Faith’s pride, Not taking a side. Images of loves lingering traces captured, About hates fires they race, Filling wants with wells of grace, Eyes of Empathy here I trace. Images of longing for peace you captured, Hostilities ongoing soulless beating, Like sheep before slaughter bleating, In a woman’s blue eyes, hope beating. Images captured on Jerusalem old streets, Your wisdom on pages we see, Prayers called… Read more »
